For most of my life, I was never keen or enthusiastic about making New Year’s Resolutions. The past few years, however, my attitude has changed.

I’m really excited about the energy, enthusiasm and support surrounding the debut of A Fragile Utopia. The book – which chronicles my alcoholism journey and offers insight on early recovery – hit No. 1 in a couple categories on Amazon.

If you would have told me that I’d be giving inspirational speeches to patients at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation and EOSIS Beauterre Recovery Institute just a few years ago, I would have laughed out loud.

After 2 years of dedication and training, I hit 315 on the bench press. It's a feat that less than .1 percent of the population can perform.
